Mark Kidney is a Grammy Award-winning Billboard Charting recording engineer who’s projects have generated over 2 billion streams. Kidney has spent the last 30 years working with a range of artists, from local Houston acts to world-renowned performers. His depth of experience lends itself to the variety of recording options. 

Kidney, best known for his work in Houston’s R&B and Hip-Hop scenes, has credits with artists ranging from Destiny’s Child to H-Town. He has also lent his production skills to records from Lil’ Keke, ESG, DJ Screw, K-Rino, The Most Hated, and Baby Bash to name a few. 

Looking to expand to new genres, Kidney has recorded a digital exclusive EP with alt-rock band Lifehouse and 10 records with Latin hip-hop group Kinto Sol, he’s worked with The Houston Grand Opera as well as Bands Such as Taste of Garlic, Venomous Maximus and Simpleton. He’s no stranger to collaborations either, having worked on songs featuring both Keyshia Cole and Gucci Mane, songs featuring Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes. 

Mark Kidney has sat behind the console at studios essential to the fabric of Houston’s music scene, like  Uptown Recorders, Jam Down Records, South Coast Recorders, Digital Services and Sugarhill Studios. He founded his own studio, The Stone Sound, in 2014. The Stone Sound has worked with such artists as Kinto Sol, SPM, Grimm and Shadow, Baby Bash, Menace Mike, Lil Flip, Joe Kane, The Cops, ET and the Rainbow Yantra among many others. 

While well-versed in modern recording techniques, Mark Kidney also knows how to get the most out of the artists he works with. Kidney allows artists to flourish while offering his knowledge, expertise, and easy-going attitude.
